For me it depends on the light and weather conditions. I don't see much point in taking the cliche shot if the light is flat or the sun is in an unfavourable position, other than purely as a record shot. In this case I would think about other pictures to take. However, if conditions are favourable I would do what I could to get a good exapmle of the cliche shot.

You would also have to make sure the lighting of your model matches that on the stone cladding

My first Pentax was a P30t 35mm which I still own, although the lens mechanism needs fixing.

I then bought a K100D Super from Argos a few years ago when they were heavily discounted to clear stock.

I've just treated myself to the SMC Pentax-DA 55-300mm F4-5.8 ED lens and I can't wait for some free time in daylight to put it through its paces
