I'm guessing that it will not have a new sensor just one simlar to what is in the new Nokoff D7200? I just haven't seen any blurb on any radically new Sony APSC sensors recently and something usually leaks out, so that may be the disappointment alluded to in the other forum, all I know is that it is not the Samsung but it could easily be Toshiba or Aptina or even someone else.
I reckon the pixel shifting high MP mode will be introduced with "K-3 II".
There was a rumor that maybe Pentax would have implemented the pixel shifting feature by a firmware update.
From a Commercial point of view I am not sure this would be a good decision at the moment but maybe six months after the new body is out?
If I binned my beloved K3 that would make me pretty sore, so well done Ricoh on making me keep it. (Not a hard decision :wink

According to DXO Mark the new D7200 is APSC Championo, if you believe DXO Mark that is...

The DR is very good, even better than the K5!

Always bought bodies new when the price fell to the right level and always sold on losing around £100 as I kept my bodies for approx two years then they roughly cost me a pound a week and where always covered by warranty
@Cabstar I wish I had gotten that advice a lot earlier as my camera buying history has early adopter written all over it, luckily I supppose it will be at least six months before I'll be able to afford one, I think it's arrival is imminent (Very!). I seem to have bought into almost every new DSLR that came out with problems over the years and it's a very frustrating habit I intend to break this time around.

I'd expect just the obvious floppy screen and wifi/nfc, along with a sensor shift high res mode.
I reckon you'll be bang on there Richard, I'm hearing that it will not be the "NEW" Samsung BSI sensor, Sony being the favourite in this particular race. Some mutterings on most of the focus improvments being with the new lenses, (Number and spread of focus points aside) which I suppose makes some sense as it would not really be possible to drive the old SDM lenses too much quicker by simply adding a new body but maybe the tracking wold be slightly superior? Since we may be getting the "Super" resolution, that may well be the make or break for me, as far as this model goes, that would mean a sharp increase in internal memory "grunt". Putting it pretty simplistically, it's what Nikon do with their single digit bodies and it makes the world of difference to the focusing speed and aquisition time, say between a D4 and a D7100, despite having on paper a similar focus system (Sensitivity aside) they are like chalk and cheese...

Ed from Photouniverse. Is an individual, no doubt!
If they can bring it in at not too far north of £1200 and not take the pee like Canon did with the 7D MkII, then I'll wait until it tips under a grand as I feel that is enough money for a camera...

Damn just bought 2nd k3
On the verge of doing the same myself but I don't think this one will do much to stop me to be honest flippy screen NFC and Wifi/GPS, if added is just stuff I don't, need half of which, if you forget and leave it on, drains the battery, useful to some but only the icing on something thats good enough already, for me anyway. Get another original, or maybe a prestige version at that and save some cash for extra lenses, it would have to blow the image quality doors wide open to get me to buy it, all the rest, more AF points and faster focus if it's included, just don't excite any more, you can't really polish a you know what... JOKE

Hello again George. I love my 16-50, well perhaps love is a bit strong for an inanimate object.

It works well for me, just occasionally a tad heavy when on the hills for a full day.
It's understandable that those who have experienced a focus motor issue are wary of the lens, but those who haven't generally seem to be impressed. I think it's a super lens.

Having tried both but the 16-85 only briefly I'd say that the newbie has better edges but the centre sharpness is not quite the same as the F2.8 George, like the old 17-70 which I think the new lens really replaces it is very even in resolution pretty much right across the frame. Being a Landscape shooter I really thought it would be the lens for me but I was recently offered a very good deal on a 16-50 F2.8 and even though it has just failed on me, (Not AF, and luckily I have a guarantee, second one I've owned, so I'm at a fifty percent success rate here) still given the choice of the new 16-85mm F4-5.6 and a good secondhand 16-50mm F2.8 I would still go for the latter, it just has the sparkle and you can get a lot more joy from an F2.8 when you need it. The difference in weight is not too great because the 16-85 is pretty long, when closed down, so the balance on camera for carrying around is not much different, hope my rambling helps...

Nikon D610 as well, whats one of them and where do I get one? will my Pentax lenses fit?can I get a blue one?
Better not tell my 2 mates who use Nikons. Wish I had not bothered doing the stupid test.
Confused from Northumberland.
Oh dear, I had one of them!
It's just a bit of fun...
Just for kicks, this is what I actually entered and they scored the K3 thus:
Photography type (Scores are out of 100)
Landscape 85

I skipped advanced photography types because I don't do any of the catagories involved any more...

Specific characteristics
Best image quality 100
Small as possible 40
Large prints 100
Weather sealed 100
Video not important x

If I left out weather sealed I got a Sony RX100!
Hmm RX100...
