i recently get my istds back of cleaning.
is was pretty dusty. after >13.000 pics i think this is normal.
but, that company told me also this kind of cam has a very sensitive powerbridge onboard.
it seems this can (be) damage the powercells in it.
only pentax can repair this.
any one know something about this?
it seems to be a know problem of this dslr's.
thanks!

someone have used this lens before?
any comments?
also put the Q at the pentax helpdesk.
they give an example of smc PENTAX-FA J 28mm-80mm F3.5-5.6AL
this also fit's to my analog body....
how about image stabilizer in lens?
is this possible for my "old" pentax istDS?

this lens cost about 125 euro in the netherlands.
does this also support macro?
is there also an alternative? different vendor perhaps?
i prefer to use a pentax lens, but perhaps there r better alternatives?

a little time ago my istDS smashed to the ground.
the body seems to be ok. the lens is out of order...
i have to buy a new lens.
it is a (old) 28-80mm lens which i also used on my analog cam.
i also have a 70-210mm lens.
perhaps someone can advice me which lens i have to buy, so i can get the most out of my istDS.
thanks in advance!

x-mas is over, now i have time again..
tnx for all your good reply's.
i also put a Q to pentax. still wating for there reaction.
Mongoose told that alkalines r bad for DSLRs. why is this?
a frend of me told me about Lithium-Ion accu's. he told they r the best.
some of you have used them before?
during x-mas my cam told me a few times the accu's r empty... after shutdown the cam for 30-45 mins, the accus where ok again... very strange...
thanks!
