FWIW, I´ve only ever seen one A 50 1.4 for sale, ever, and it was for 150 pounds. This is almost double what I paid for my M version. In my opinion it´s not worth it, if I really need the A setting I´ll use my 1.7.

But I always have an eye open for a 1:1.2 version...

I´d say, on the whole, the differences are minor between 1.7 & 1.4, but they all have their own character. I´d say you´d gain little getting an A1.4 when you already have the better-built M variant. The A convenience is not all it´s cracked up to be, at least on older DSLRs, as metering is not very reliable anyway.

All AF lenses are useable with manual focus, but they don´t give anything like the pleasure of using a finely built, smooth-operating MF lens.

As the title says, if anyone can tell me if the case is a good fit that´d be great.

A local dealer have told me they can´t get this case any more as it´s been discontinued. It certainly does seem hard to find anywhere just now.

I like both of the colour versions a lot, but on my screen the digital looks slightly underexposed & the film slightly over. A good comparison though, funny how film allows more contrast than the digital seems to.

Not one deal as such, but browsing the Pentax lenses over at SRS I see that a number of prices have dropped, some significantly. The 12-24 is now 599GBP, the 17-70 has dropped and some of the DA Ltds have dropped too.

Is this a UK-wide price drop from Pentax? I´m surprised SRS themselves have not been shouting about the new lower prices.

This is useful for focusing manually, it does help a little. At other times it can be annoying though as it cuts off the very edge of the image, so composition is harder. At least it does for me (I wear glasses).

I have the M 100 2.8, but it´s been superceded by the 85/2 since I got that. I should give the 100mm more of a chance.

I had seen the 3 wolves t-shirt before but some of the others are also great. I like how some of the reviews make references to the others. I was crying with laughter at the uranium ore one, especially the pictures & the submarine.

Around double the price of the zeiss 100/2. I think with the modern coatings & design, I would be very surprised indeed if the old Tak beat the Zeiss in performance. And even if it did, it would have to be a LOT better to merit that kind of money.
