There's some debate as to whether this will be limited to the Japanese market, but looks like you pre-order a camera body to your own specification then sit back and wait for it to be built. Not sure about how this could work with lenses.
For it to work globally they'd have to have build facilities in strategic locations. Would really impact SRS unless they could become such a facility, but I suspect builds will be part of repairs.

I will be shortly selling my new K3iii - I have given up on the autofocus front. The number of sharp images shooting birds in flight is ludicrously low. I listened to the hype surrounding the autofocus improvements on the K3iii, what a mistake, it's back to Sony for my bird photography.
I will retain my K5iis and K3 for general photography as my first love is Pentax.
I am so disappointed.

Reading other comments I also get the impression that optimum AF performance, as well as video, are linked to use of PLM lenses

If I ever find the box with the Q stuff in it, I may have a duplicate lens or two I'd be willing to part with. The only one I am missing is the 08 but that is rarer than hen's teeth and twice as expensive.
I'll let you know when/if they surface!
