The flower has been nicely isolated from the background, although I do feel it lacks "sparkle" so maybe a bit of a boost to the contrast might make all the difference.

I like the way you've gone in really close. I also like the texture of the pebbles at the bottom of the frame. It just shows what can be done with a compact digital camera with a bit of imagination.

Nice shot Matt. I'd be very inclined to crop a little on the right side so that the edge of the image was dark as opposed to being a light area. Light areas attract our eyes and here IMHO pull us slightly away from the subject.
When I cover that area up it seems to concentrate us more on the bird's head.

It's a nice peaceful end-of-day shot. Personally, I might crop out a bit of foreground to bring the horizon lower.
I particularly like the lonely, solitary feeling of that plane. It's been enhanced by leaving lots of space and, of course, the great colour.
