I've sent a reminder to Snakey that the weekly competition is overdue. Hope all is well with him.

If I don't hear back by tonight I'll step in and set a new weekly competition.

Before you send it off anywhere, you could try cleaning the contacts on the lens and the camera mount to make sure there's no grease or dirt stopping the two communicating. Just use a dry cotton or microfibre cloth.

If everyone reported spam via the report system we'd be inundated!

By all means send a report if you think something has been missed, but we can see the spam. It's just a matter of when we happen to check. Might be straight away, might be after an hour or two.

I've noticed that we are getting a few replies when spammers post, but if everyone can resist the temptation to reply to these unwanted messages it would be much appreciated.

Making a reply will generate a notification to the original poster, thus encouraging them to think they are being noticed. Hence they keep posting. The best approach is to ignore them completely.

Many thanks!

A couple of posts taken off to avoid confusion. Please start a new thread if you have another of these for sale, or indeed should you want to buy one.

Many thanks!

It depends on whether you want a neutral, accurate WB or whether you want to evoke a warmer or colder tone to your images. Generally, people prefer warm images, although it does depend very much on the intent of the photographer and the subject matter.

As I generally shoot JPEG images it's pretty simple to get any WB I want. If I was shooting a concert with stage lighting that contantly changes I would use AWB. For general daylight shooting I would use Daylight setting, and as the light changed I would leave it there and the different colours would be recorded as I saw them. If I wanted a warmer look (such as using film with an 81A filter) then I would set Cloudy. If I was deep in the shadows of the woods shooting fungi then setting Shade totally avoids any unfortunate purple shadwows creeping in.

Finally, if I am still wanting to tweak what I have shot, then Photoshop gives plenty of options.

Nicely shot set of images. It looks like an interesting village.
