You should be working in the same colour space throughout as much as possible. sRGB and Adobe RGB are the only ones you need to think about. My advice is choose one and stick with it. sRGB is the standard for monitors and web use and will give brighter colours. Adobe RGB has a wider gamut (can reproduce more colours) but will give prints with slightly less sparkle.

I use sRGB (always the simple life!) and make the best of that.

If you want to put a link to this site on your own website, that's no different to what lots of other websites do already. The ADAPS website has a links page that offers links to masses of sites of interest. All part of the service, and no specific permission was necessary.

Why not have a look and see what I mean?

Fair comment, but there are definite differences in quality between most pro-level lenses and their amateur equivalents.

This did not use to be the case. In the days of the M and A series lenses, all lenses were expected to be of the highest quality (some-one is going to tell us about the Takumar Bayonet series now!). These days it is more blatant. Cheap zooms will give perfectly good results for the majority, sometimes being quite excellent. If we have specific requirements (perhaps we want poster sized prints for display or whatever) then it is good to understand the design parameters of particular lenses.

I suppose it depends on the zoom. There are definitely different levels of expectation from different levels of cost.

One of the reasons I stick to Pentax lenses is that everything operates the same way. When working quickly, this is a definite advantage.

Whatever it means, or if it means nothing, perhaps it has worked well because people are discussing it. I doubt there will be many conversations about how you pronounce Canon 350D or Nikon D70s.

It might be a rather clever move after all!

I know that there are some bad sellers and bad buyers on eBay just like everywhere else in life, but it's easy to jump to conclusions.

I bought some items from a seller who never responded, never invoiced, and had good feedback up to a couple of weeks before my attampt to purchase.

So why did it suddenly start to go wrong? Illness? Death of the seller? Who knows, maybe even a prolonged computer problem.

I don't think retaliation helps though, it just puts us in the wrong as well.

Have you checked the battery compartment contacts to make sure they are clean?

The digital SLR only uses the centre portion of the field of view of a 35mm format lens, which helps a lot when using older lenses anyway.

telecentric design may well be the way forward, but there are many other factors.
