Thanks for the notification on the 85 actually
Becuase if I ever moved to Nikon, thats one lens I would buy because of focal length.

Not that im going to or anything.
Have a look on the photozone site, Klaus says the bokeh is particularly good on the Nikon 85 F1.8 if you look at his pictures you can see it's rubbish, I think it must be a German thing.

I should have checked there first.

I bought it because of the focal length too

Actually I would have to admit that the bokeh on the 85 mm F1.8 Nikon I've just bought is absolutley cr@p. Very dissapointing, not a patch on the 100mm macro (Pentax) or even FA135. Pentax do seem to make better lenses (mostly).

Well he is running out of quality lenses after all.
That's it I have run out. The only thing I have left are the DS kit lens and the 50-200 Pentax.

The only quality glass I have left is my "M" 50mm F1.4 and that's staying on the MX I've had for the last 25 years.

Those product shots aren't very sharp, can't be using a Pentax...
No it was a Nikon macro. It was very dark when I took the shots manual focusing in daylight. I could have put the light on but then there would have been a mix of tungsten and daylight.

SOLD
Hi all, well this is my very last autofocus lens up for sale.

It's an FA 50mm F1.4 "standard" lens makes a very usefull short telephoto with the equivalent view the FA77 had on film. The lens is of outstanding quality and great for half body shots.

Condition is well used so some of the barrel is a bit shing from finger wear, optics are very good however. Please study photos.

Asking price is £90 delivered. I'll probably ebay it tomorrow evening so if you want it be quick.

If I was going gigging then I'd have a 50mm F1.4 on the camera, a 35mm F2 in one pocket and the 135mm F2.8 in the other. Forget the massive zooms and have compact and hand held. Have you ever tried the 50-135, lovely but massive.
