I like this, a terribly different shot of a very well-photoed spot. Seems to reinforce the fact that half the castle slipped down the hill at some stage in history.

Wonderful shot, you must have such patience. Not just another robin on a spade, this one has great attitude - and a great spade handle.
This'll be my late-night eyes, but it does look as though Robo is heading off an opaque ball:D. I dislike cloning things out personally, but might it be worth doing here?

I really like the foreground - as an untamed tangle it has a remarkable gracefulness with all those curves of brambles, and I like the contrast of dark brambles and light dead stems. And the posts contain the Knoll.
It's something that could have been dire and has been made artful. Looks crisp to me, too. Jumped out at me from the Gallery, maybe cos it's Zummerzet!

I used to regularly be driven past the cooling towers on Pontefract on the way to holidays with grandparents, they are very evocative. And definitely require b&w.
It's difficult to get down to learning software, don't blame you!

Thanks a lot for the kind comments! I think the K10D+16-50 is a great combo for events where colour is in the air- literally! ;-):)
Thanks and regards -Ravi. Great fun photo, the colours are lovely, and the child's expression just right.
If you would be so kind, could you just elucidate why the 16-50mm is good? I've got the 18-55 and find it, quite frankly, lousy (unless it's just mine - f ...

I should have taken it half an hour earlier or later so that the shadows of the trees on the right didn't run down the trunks on the left. Well, yes and no, I'd settle on a no. Makes a greater contrast with right and left of avenue. It's shame that the 3rd tree on the left didn't have a similar 'partner' tree for the shadow to continue - those damn avenue builders...

I like this, caught my attention. There's something about cooling towers... Not keen on effects myself, but agree with you, it works with this image, b&w brings out the 'industrial wasteland' feel to the trees. I'd probs feather it a bit more (if that's the term), but I'm normally wrong :D

Wonderfully atmospheric winter shot, love the shadows - not as easy as they look, these shots, been trying myself...

That's wonderful, like the way that you've tweaked it. The mist looks like the eye sees it, yet the field is surreal looking. Works for me!

I love this shot, straightaway I said 'wow, Exmoor' - ok, not quite correct, but near enough! Knowing the area, the sloping hill looks totally correct to me and preferable to the horizontal, but that's insider knowledge for you... Congrats for perfectly capturing the spirit of the place.
