MZ-6 body, used condition showing some age, works perfectly, new battery, £20 plus £5 delivery

MZ-30 body, very good condition, also works perfectly, new battery as well, also £20 plus £5 delivery

Pentax DA 40mm Limited, bought about half a year ago to be used with those two bodies, boxed with original caps and hood, only used for 5 or 6 rolls, very good condition with UV filter always attached, £230 plus £5 delivery.

For the price, for the value, and for the fun.

Not really too many modern choices for Pentax to cover wide angle:
Several zoom, 14mm, 15mm, 21mm and ? And they are almost all about 5-6 times more expensive than a lovely Takumar.

It's very hard to find any manual lens shorter than 28mm. Which means with the 1.5X, no easy wide angle left really.

For landscape, you don't really care AF that much. MF is really OK. So for me, digital FF is really appealing.
I agree with you Poto, and besides the wide angle issue, as I'm playing with film and digital at the same time, the crop factor and the difference in DoF are really annoying, for me it's never about the image quality...

Hello Huanja

I read bad things about the one's from China and some of the UK ones look as though they may have been bought from China for £5.00 and beeing sold on for £12.99 so I feel the need to be a little cautious.

If you have any further wisdom to offer it would be greatly accepted.

Cheers

Hi Stuey,

I've also read about that before my purchases. Although most of the complaints were wriiten a few years ago that may indicates things have improved, it's still a shame because the adaptor itself is not that difficult to produce, and taking into consideration that in the film era almost all the SLR brands in China used PK mount, a M42-PK adaptor is not something new to them.

but for the much cheaper price I always try those third party ones for all my adaptors and luckily they never let me down. I've got all my adaptors, M42-EOS M42-PK M42-C/Y C/Y-EOS etc etc.... from several different sellers in HongKong and China mainland, they all work perfectly. for less than 5 pounds delivered I can't be more satisfied. But always read the reviews of the sellers before buying, gives you a rough idea the quality of the products.

But if you feel you are more comfortable with the original one and their price, go for them. It's similar to buying 3rd party lens and other accessories, sometimes just personal preference and paying for the "comfort in the mind" of using a orignal product.

Hope you enjoy your M42 lens Some of these oldies are truely amazing.

regards,

Huanjia
