Some photographers like to stick with a certain pose... I call it 'The Hungry Puppy'

Tbh, I think the people who are dressing up want to be photographed
We are there to be photographed, but also to be treated like humans, and I don't think any tog has the right to treat those in costume like their puppet.

My complaint in this matter is not that people don't want to show off their costumes and have photographs taken, but that they don't want to be spoken to so rudely, or treated as a prize winning dog, made to do various tricks for the tog's amusement.

Some previously mentioned that it seemed to be more Canon users and I belive that to be true. I saw lovely people who were there for fun with their Leicas, Nikons, Pentaxes, iPhones, digital camers etc. and the peeped over people's shoulders to steal a shot from the professionals and that is fine.
But the only people I noticed asking people to 'stand like this', 'look over there', ' move into the shadows', 'play dead' were those with paparazzi set-ups, Canons with extending flash units and thingummy-doo-hickeys.

Costumed people are not there to pursue their modelling careers, but instead to show off their 'look-what-I-did-Mum!!' to people who'll appreciate it and compare theirs too.

To conclude my essay ... I'm not complaining about people declining photos or getting moody with togs not asking, but with the togs who abuse their subjects, with the idea that they can tell some poor girl in a corner to do what they want and they'll politely adhere to their commands.

Snapping photos on the street at random is fine, but if you want anything close up, please ask.

Don't just stand infront of me, take a photos of my chest and say "One for the husband" with a big grin on your face.

If I weren't so dumbfounded I'd have had her camera, wiped the memory card and told her where to shove it!

Next year I have made a resolute decision to give back the rudeness that people bestow on me, with interest. And if Tony Fletcher (the initial complaint from HG above) comes near me I will decline him and walk away.

You simply cannot be that rude about people or to their faces. We are not a bowl of fruit that you can prod around and make pose for you! TF asked me to 'tilt my head'. Not in any normal way but instead like a dog looking at a gammon steak. What a D***. I will stand how I feel comfortable, and if I don't want to, I won't.

Unfortunately the only shaded part by the church on the hill was in one corner, so togs wanting more atmospheric shots were ushering people to that corner. I don't mind going there willingly but I wasn'taiming to be stood there for 45 minutes!!!

As for drinking and time, beer o'clock sounds good to me....

Crabbies!!

If I must...
Aah, we should celebrate every Friday Eve! It only comes round once every 10080 minutes...
