You can scan 120 on an ordinary flatbed scanner.

I do with some success.

Another option is to use a light box and take a digital photo of the neg, bit long winded but it does work.

If that's my Bessa you mean it cost £20 in a charity shop and is a dream to use.

They tend op cost more on ebay so a trip around the shops may be a good idea.

My Ensign Selfix 20, although not as easy to use, is also a common camera which can give good results. Again mine came from a charity shop for the princely sum of £10.

If you want to dabble with120 film have a quick look at my section HERE.

I know they're not Pentax, but they are fun and cost next to nothing.

A true hero.

Too many people are called heroes just for doing their jobs now a days, when somebody does this he/she is deservedly given the title.

Sorry Gwyn, I wanted to know what shutter speed cameras like this have,

so I can get correct exposures and not waste too much film.

The tester sits behind the lens and measures, using a free programme, the length of time the shutter is open.

With that information I can then adjust the aperture to suit.

Only time, and a film will tell how useful the information will be.

I seem to recall the *ist has the same sensor as my K110.

I still use my K110 as a street camera, with much the same results, although I prefer a 100m on the front.

Who's a clever boy then?

I've just built and used a shutter speed tester. I wanted to know how bad the shutters were on some of my old folders, a quick google gave me this, and it works!

Now I can test my M series bodies as well..

Making use of an otherwise boring image like this can pass hours and produce good wall prints.

You've created a stunningly simple piece of, as Kris says, 'graphic art'.

I like it, but a step too far?

Maybe.
