Learnt in a string of early 80s cars, my driving instructor changed his car more often than I liked.

Still, taking a driving test in a Talbot Samba sport that was nimble and very fast was, I'm convinced, what helped me pass.

Got on the scales this morning..

.. the diet starts tomorrow..

A kissing game controller!!!

Is that the only way to get games nerds a girl friend?

My son's been learning to drive in a new Astra...

...he hates it, the steering is slow, it wallows on corners and has all the power of a hair dryer!

I'll stick with my Fiat, it's a basic box with no power anything, but it handles and,as you say DM, rewards carefull smooth driving.

Spider keeps saying 6 and 7, one reason he hasn't mentioned is the availability for both is good.

Is my MZ50 an oddment, it allows use of 'M' series lenses!

I seem to recall my MZ10 does as well.

...the answer to the question, "any where he likes!!"

As for driving,ABS traction control, power steering and the rest, they make it easy for any idiot to point a box in (roughly) the right direction.

But when things get 'iffy' they're worse than useless!

Kids think that a Corsa is a good car because they learn in them, look how many destroy their cars, and unfortunately themselves.

Teach them all to drive in a car that handles like a bucket on castors with no gimmicks and they'd be much better drivers.

Rant over!

My favourite trick is getting it into supermarket parking spaces in one go
I used to do that with my old series 2 SWB Landy...

... made a heck of a mess of the other cars though!

They used to say " Where does the guy with the old Land Rover park?"

I'm back!

Sorry I missed you're sad news Steve, hope all's well with you.

I've been watching local authorities shedding jobs across the region. My post was part of a revue which could/will impact on what I do, I've been asked to make a decision regarding redundancy with no fact!

I chose to stay, then this Hutton bloke comes up with a way of stealing my pension!!!

I missed it all sitting in pubs in North Yorks for 3 days, c;est la vie!!

Nice one Stefan.

It's good to know that it's not the idiot on this side of the keyboard that makes all the mistakes on computers.

And yes I did forget, the bag was on the compute chair in the office while I was in the car heading for Skipton!

Nice day today.

No camera with me, I forgot to take it, but had a good pub lunch, delivered pizza for tea and several beers.

Tomorrow we're off for a couple of nights in North Yorks.

Some friends are meeting us and the drinking will start around 6pm.
