The 100 doesn't look too bad, the subject would have some influence over the sharpness, f5.6 od 8 may have given better results.
As for the Tokina at 400, a tripod looks like the 'must have' to use effectively.
All in, an interesting experiment.

On a more positive note, most times the postie catches me in and if he's the regular chap he will leave it with a neighbour (the standins never do that - more tha their jobs worth apparently)
The van driver, on the other hand seems unable to read resulting in irritating trips to the office.

The problem with sprouts is they seem obligatory with the turkey, meaning that they're 'traditional'
I much prefer them fresh off a stalk and cooked quickly anytime except December 25th.
