Welcome to my world...

Don't you have a freezer HG? Slice it, cover it in gravy and freeze it. Make pies from it. Chilli, soup, loads if things you can do.
Or freeze it whole for when you can eat it with the family.

We're having cheese and cold meats for Christmas dinner.
Oldest son, who officially lives with us, even though he lives on his boat, will join us on Boxing Day as his plans have also been cancelled.

Currently in the reformat mode here.
We;ve had a couple of varieties of the virus floating around for a while.
Vaccine? What's that?

Keep safe everyone, especially those travelling for work!

Further to your hunt for food... We go into full lockdwon from midnight. Hotels are allowed to remain open but must not serve any food or drink to their guests. Most Dutch hotels don't even have a kettle/coffee maker in the room so you cant even make yourself a cup of something warming.
Went out to get birdfood, which we needed today, before the ful expent of the lockdown was announced. Queues everywhere, people rushing to get Christmas stuff I guess.
Allowed two visitors a day, and three on Christmas Day, but we aren't supposed to travel.
Schools closing again, which is not surprising as the bulk of new infections are in 10-20 year olds, but a real headache again for parents.

No sign of the vaccine being approved here - EMA doesn't intend to meet until after Christmas, much to Germany's chagrin - BioNTech is of course German.

I dont get a pension from the UK when the time comes, even though I worked and paid a full stamp, even when I didn't need to, and when I wasn't working claimed Child Benefit, which was supposed to count. They have lost half my records, and based on what I told them said I hadn't worked long enough and half the time I got Child Benefit didn't count.
I don't get anything should His Nibs keel over either, just a pittance from his Civil Service pension, my small Dutch pension and whatever is left in the annuity.

Because I've retired on a private pension and have no intention of getting another job just to pay more tax I'm not entitled to ANY state hand outs.

If I go to the DHSS site and enter details I get told in no uncertain terms I'm not allowed ANYTHING!!

And that's after a working life paying taxes and claiming nothing.

I could go on...
Don't you get the basic state pension? His Nibs gets a tiny one based on his employment in the UK, along with a small civil service type pension.
I won't get anything according to DWP when I am old enough.

Luckily I do get a Dutch pension. Everyone here qualifies regardless of emplyment record. You get a set amount for every year you live in the Netherlands over the age of 14. I get mine now because His Nibs retired a month before they did away with the partner pension. Otherwise I'd have to wait until I'm nearly 67.

What a rubbish programme the Hit List is.

Just had a whatsapp from my nephew thanking me for my Christmas card and asking if it was supposed to be completely blank

The cards come from the printer in sets of ten, with one extra blank one on top. Oops.
Still perhaps it sums up 2020 better than the card he was supposed to receive

You'll see that card sometime...

His Nibs got his. Not 200 quid though. €11. That'll keep us going all winter. I am always amazed we get it tbh.

Good luck with that! Our local offie doesn't have it but a couple of the online ones do, for €20.995 upwards.
I don't drink it personally but it was interesting having a search for it.
Yes I am bored...

Holy Thread Resurrection batman... I don't think any of us are going anywhere much for a while.
I've visited a few photogenic places (I live in one ) in the Netherlands this year. Haven't taken many photos though.

I can't see us travelling much in the coming year, even with a vaccine.
