Personally, I'd rather see someone come up with a sensor with a more sensable aspect ratio, more like the 8x10/11x14/16x20 photos that portrait and wedding shooters tend to sell.
Since with either full-frame or APS-C, you're essentially cutting off the edges of the frame, a 10 megapixel sensor with a 4:5 or 3:4 aspect ratio would be like having a 12 megapixel sensor on a full frame, even if it only covered the image circle of APS-C.
Now, THAT would be a worthwhile investment!

SRS is indeed a joy to find, next time I'm in the UK Watford will be on my list of must see places
Luckily my brother lives in Chalfont St something so it's not too far away from him
And nothing wrong with Watford but I do like the idea of it being on a list of must see places In a month's time it'll be on my list of must-avoid places... there's a car park that around christmas resembles something out of Dante's nine circles of hell, and is about as difficult to leave.
But Watford ans especially SRS will get a visit early next year!

Olympus use the 4/3rds sytem, as do most P&S cameras. But as you point out for us the standards are 2:3 with the result that they lose a chunk photo every time if they use a commercial printer.
And to be honest I prefer the 2:3 ratio, it feels more natural somehow.
