Stofen?! or the end of a pint semi-transparent plastic milk bottle. This can work well too.

As it happens I have bought a brolly and flash stand adaptor. It all works well.

I have a Summerball event shoot to do on the 9th July. I have a couple of mono block but may want to shoot outside. So I have been looking into purchasing a hotshoe mounted flash soft box. Interfit XS or Lastolite Ezbox.

Lastolite: link

What are your thoughts and opinions regarding these two systems ladies and gents? Are there any other options by brand or method? Will P-TTL still work with the slash straightened out while fitted in the Interfit system?

Using a K10D and AF540FGZ. Thankyou.

Are there any online reviews of the Pentax AF-540 flash? or indeed magazine reviews?

Thanks.

Sure it would give me a portable option. But this solution works out as a relatively expensive desktop, essentially? No?

An Apple Macintosh Book is out of the question. I'm a PC man and do not intend to shell out for and learn the Mac system. Thanks for those comments non the less. + Macs are too expensive for me.

The 4500MHD does support HDTV, the laptop does have an HDMI port. It sounds encouraging that you think the laptop will be able to perform the task in hand. Am I right in this assumption?

The screen would be good enough for the purpose as the system will not be my primary editing tool, just a mobile system to enable me to edit while away from home.

Any other comments welcome.

I'm looking for a Laptop which needs to be able to handle my K10D 28MB+ images using Photoshop CS3, Elements 6 and Lightroom1/2, or a combination of the above image editing software options.

The question is. Does the laptop have to have a separate graphics card or is an integrated graphics system going to provide satisfactory performance?

For instance I have my eye on a HP G70-111EM laptop with a 17" screen and 3GB of RAM. Seems nice but it has a Intel integrated graphics (Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD)which will rob about 1GB of RAM.

Which laptop for image editing?

Help!!

My Sigma Lens (17-70mm) fell appart last week I have taken just over 6500 pictures with it this year. Worn out??? I hope not!

Well it has not exactly fallen appart but the Zoom ring rotates freely and does not zoom the barrel. Also the Focus ring rotates freely and does not focus.

With the lens attached, auto focus is hunting all the time due to I'm guessing somthing broken on the inside. With the lens removed and you gently shake it you can hear a rattling inside the lens.

I've returned it for repair.

Bugger!

The new DA 17-70 F4 SDM looks tempting now. But I will miss the macro functionality. But being a PENTAX lens it should last?

I bought my K10D in early Jan 08 it came with firmware 1.0 installed. I've just upgraded to 1.30.

Very easy process to follow.
