Great pics as always Gary. I bought a 50-135 DA* on the basis of your glowing endorsements and have not been disappointed.

When I was looking buy a newer body last year I handled the Nikon D7000, as well as trying the K5. The Pentax just felt better on several levels, and although I initially got the K-r, which I'm very happy with, I pulled out the stops to acquire a nearly new K5, which confirmed my early impressions. Both great cameras !

Ah yes Bill, good glass would make the biggest improvement I agree, and oh that I could afford my dream selections. I doubt the OP would notice much improvement in general shooting conditions, and I am finding the K-r metering a bit more accurate in tricky light-could be just me still getting used to the K5 though.

Hi Matty,

I have had the K-r for about 6 months, and very recently acquired a K5 too. The K5 is certainly superior for low light shooting, but I like the lightness and handling of the K-r. Horses for courses really, depending on your shooting style. Why not save up and have both

Have been perusing the site for a while and it seems a friendly place, so as I have man flu today and am in bed feeling sorry for myself, I thought I'd say hi! Returned to the Pentax fold about 4 months ago with a Kr, which impresses me, especially in low light. Had a P30 many moons ago, and more recently shooting Fuji s5, which I love for the DR. Seriously tempted by the K5 though when funds allow.....
