I've just joined myself after sitting on the fence and reading comments about optics quality on here.
It seems to me that it's a bit of a lottery with these zoom lenses. I had a 16-50mm f/2.8 for a while, but returned it after shooting a test chart of a map and found that my £29 Mk II 18-55mm lens out-performed it...
I also had a 16-45mm for a spell, but that was even worse.
So now I'm thinking either stay with Zeiss or Voigtlander primes. Anyone have any experience with any of these wide angle lenses, 18mm or 20mm, or is the Pentax 10-20mm f/4 zoom a better bet?
My Voigtlander 58mm f/1.4 is great and I also have a Pentax 50-135mm f/2.8, but this has stopped working with the auto focus, so I guess this will have to go back to Pentax for repair.
I'd appreciate anyones comments about this fault and how much this is likely to cost...
Thanks everyone.
