i dont make a living selling prints, i make a living doing shoots for people

anyway i am still learning - i dont want to be doing too much right now as i am only 1 year through my degree

I havent pushed the lenses pentax wise because now i am thinking of upgrading i have decided to switch to Nikon, if i were staying with Pentax i would be buying new pentax lenses but thats not the direction i want to go

I will be sure to come back and post some piccies, i was going to ask - if i keep a film lens or two can i still come back and chat

aww shucks - i promise this though, if anyone ever asks me what the best entry level camera to get is, i will ALWAYS say pentax, it far surpasses anything else in its class... i just need to move onward

Okies i put a classifieds thread up because i am selling off all my pentax gear in order to buy a Nikon D700 and to start with a 24-70mm lens.

Lots of people seem very keen to discuss with me Why i am making the move and i am happy to talk about it, so i thought i would add a thread in General so we can get it all out the way

In the last few months, since launching Siren Prints, i have been making more and more money from photography - i have done a few weddings, been invited to 3 festivals with expenses paid and i have done a number of fashion shoots for people also

Now i am in a position where i need to be able to say 'if i come to your party/wedding/gig/modelling shoot I WILL produce quality images across the range' Be it dark, bright, up or down, i need to produce professional results

And i need a professional camera to do that.

I have always found noise to be a problem on the pentax, also its focusing ability in low light is annoying

I want CLEAN glass, i have seen such awesome pictures from the Nikons and i want to be able to produce pictures with as much clarity and bounce, without having the huge hurdles i have to deal with with the pentax

Its a great camera, but its NOT a professionals camera and that is what i am now

So go on, rip me apart - i'm ready for ya

i am buying a Nikon D700... Dreadful to move from Pentax and i would not have changed the time nor the photos i have had from my cameras but i am getting paid for my work now and its time to upgrade...

Oh yesh - sorry i should add that i have 2x pentax batteries for the camera and also 2x8g memory cards too
