As I thought I just found that review and it stated hardly any software worked at that resolution as the icons where too small to see.
So it's not an elements issue but a windows problem with qhd display. It's a bit bad when Microsoft cannot keep its operating system upto scratch with hardware developments.
As more and more laptops including 13" one`s are now using 3200x1800 pixel screens , more software will be come optimised for it.

If you an afford a dell XPS with that resolution why would you run elements on it? In fact why would you run any software at that resolution the images and icons would be tiny on a 15" screen.

Thinking of getting a new laptop myself, and after some gugling it appears getting one with a screen above full hd is a waste of time, as software like elements can`t use the extra pixels and you have to lower the res which defeats the object of buying the larger res screen.
Will wait till windows 10 appears be for buying.

It came from PC Advisor 04/06/2014 Review of a Dell XPS15 which has a 3200x1800 display.

Hi Dave
I had the DA* 200mm and the HD 1x4 TC, they worked very well together, I lost a stop of light, but that was the only downside. focus and IQ were no different to my eyes. The DA* 300mm is a great lens and from what others have said on this forum it is great with the HD 1x4 TC optically. If you are intending to shoot wildlife the DA* 300 and the TC is about as good as you will get currently unless you have about £3000 to spend.
If I were thinking about using the HD 1x4 TC and wanted good IQ and reach I would pair it with the DA*300, the DA*200 is great with or without a TC but depending on the amount of reach you need, I personally found it a little short and wish I had purchased the 300 rather than the 200, but both are great lenses.
Is the DA* 200 with HD 1x4 TC as good as the DA*300? Other people who have owned both lenses and the TC may be able to give you a specific answer.
Cheers

I started with the KR but bought the K30 when it was at a good price about 2 years ago.
The K30`s a nicer camera to handle than the KR but i prefer the images from the KR`s 12mp sensor so much so i might buy another KR.
