I don't want to be seen as highjacking chaude's 'wanted' thread any more than I already have, so started my 'for sale' thread so I could post some pictures.

I bought my copy new from SRS in February. But then I bought an 18-135 in August, and I haven't really used the '-55 since.

It still looks as good as new to me, and I'm not aware of any defects. If the buyer were to find anything amiss on receipt I would of course take it back.

I'm asking £50 + delivery. Payment by bank transfer preferred. PayPal accepted if any charges are added.

NB I've had interest from siliconchippy and chaude, so they have first and second refusal. If they both pass at the asking price, I'll open it up to all.

The K-30 has a 2 second delay option, which lifts the mirror 2 seconds before it releases the shutter. Is that the same thing as the 'mirror lock up' on the K-5?

There is a wired remote shutter release for the K5, the KX only has an infra red remote release with the sensor on the front of the camera, what does the K30 have?
Will a remote release, wired or infra red, work in continuous exposure mode with any of these cameras?

The review of the K-30 says that the battery is good for 410 exposures but the reviewer got 600 and the battery was still going strong. The K5 has a claimed 700 exposures per charge. Do they use different batteries or does the K30 use more power?
The K-30 can accept a wired remote, and also has a front facing IR sensor for an IR remote. It doesn't have a rear facing sensor though.

It has a smaller battery than the K-5. The K-30 battery compartment is designed so that you can use either the Li-on battery supplied or 4xAA with an adapter. As a result, there isn't enough space for a battery the size of the K-5's.

I have an 18-55 WR that I'm not using. I bought it from SRS in February but then bought an 18-135 in August, and haven't really used the '-55 since.

It's not battered, so you may be able to find one cheaper, but SRS had them on offer when I bought it so I wouldn't be looking to retire on the sale either.

As far as I remember it's still like new. I'll have a close look at it in the morning though. It would come with the box, hood and caps, of course.

The going rate seems to be about £50 +delivery. If that would be acceptable, I'd be happy to take some pictures tomorrow.

I'll leave this on here for a couple of days more, in case a forum member wants it, but after that I'll transfer it to ebay.

I've just been reading up on the AF280T. It might work better than I thought. Comments elsewhere suggest it will still work in Auto mode, just not full TTL. Don't write it off yet!

The lenses certainly will work. The 31 is still one of the most sort-after lenses. Your daughter is a very lucky lady!

The flash I'm not so sure about. I believe it would work in manual mode, if it has one, but not TTL. Pentax has moved to P-TTL, and a P-TTL flash would be required now for automation.
