Hi to one and all...
I've been using a IR remote on the K10D for garden pics of birds.......and I've been getting the same problem......the camera turns off the remote feature after about 5minutes.....
I use the camera via the mains.....and turn the auto switch off to "off"

Come on Pentax....is there any Fireware updates we can load up to stop this from hapening??

PLEEEEEEESEE

Other than that people, the Wildlife shop make a release (both cable and IR in one) for the Pentax......this will pug into the Cable remote area, and it uses radio waves, so the camera can be round corners etc...

eactly what were your camera settings when that happened?
ChrisA discovered a glitch, when testing in a different thread last week...
Does it at anytime it wants, no matter what setting it is set on....Programme / manual etc etc....

I'll try looking at the firmwear....
Thanks.....

Hi Gang.
Sorry if this has been mentioned before.
But My K10D has been playing up.......not all the time and its easily fixed when it happens,
But every now and then, when using the battery grip, the camera locks the mirror up after takin a shot.
I need then to take both batteries out.....put them back in,and it resets itself......and may not hapen again for ages....

Any ideas please..

Thanks..
Duncan

Hi Gang...

Just to had information further more about the Jessops flashgun...

I've just used it for the first time in anger at a Prom I was doing the portraits at...
The flashgun was used with my walk-about-camera...(K100D).....
and it worked perfectly......in fact I was surprised just how well it worked.

Not used it properly on my K10D yet, although the snaps I've taken with it so far look OK

And is it definitely P-TTL?
It seems to be........I did the trick of looking through the view finder and take a pic....and ya can see a flash in the view finder before the mirror goes up??

I must admit, when I first bought it...it did over power and blast the image with too much light......but I just took it off and put it back on with more force....and now it works perfectly ok.
But with all the scare stories, I shall be keeping an eye on it...

Hi Gang,

I've just bought one of these flashguns as a back-up.....and I've been testing it out with my K10D....and it works fine for me??

I have been told that sometimes, the contact pins dont touch the hotplate pins on the camera,.....so if anyone is still having problems with it...see if pushing it on harder helps???

I have loved the MZ-S camera since i bought it when it first came out. But due to work etc I am now on the K10D. A brilliant camera in its own rights. I just hope one day Pentax could make a model that "feels" like the MZ-S...
It one of those camers that feels right as soon as you pick it up...I must buy some film for it....it just such a waste not to use it.

Any one else have a favourite camera that they would love to turn Digital?

I've noticed how loud the K10D is in a Church whilst doinga Wedding....thats why when ever I go into one now, I use the *istD...
By far a lot quieter....and sounds like a "real" camera (ie film)...

Not sure why they didn't keep the shutter the same in newer models.
From the *istDs onwards its got louder? Wierd

Hmmm....

I tried bounce flash with my K10D and AF360FGZ at my wifes 50th birthday bash last Feb. we held it at the local social club, my images ALL had a very strange yellow cast from the nicotine stained ceiling

That was definately a case of bad handling.....of the situation by the photographer
Next time use a Stofen...
I've had the same problem, but with PINK ceilings???? hee hee

A stofen at 45 degrees helps if not too far away...
I adapted an old one, as I'm not sure they are ready made for the 360?

Help!

Has anyone had the same trouble as me with the battery door on the 360 flashgun.
The minute tabs inside keep breaking....I've had to buy up to 3 new bodies so far.....i use one having to tape up the door with selotape...not a good look for Weddings?

Its easy just to say "be careful"...but when in active mode, doing Weddings etc....you have to be blooming quick?

any advice ould be greatful
This is a well-known problem, and here is the only known solution: buy a 540.

Sorry I can't be more helpful.

G
Yeah I was afraid of that.......
Thanks for your relply though....
