Steve,
I am using Version 1.10.
The lens and mount I was using were borrowed from work.
I will check the instruction sheet for the exact adapter model.
I just purchased a used FA100/2.8 Macro and will be giving it a workout this weekend. (from ebay-same as 90% of my Pentax gear. I purchased the *ist-D, kit lens, flash and grip at a local camera store.)
Regards,
ducerman

Thanks ducerman,
It was my Tamron SP 90mm F2.5 macro I was trying to use with the KA mount, but I'd given up on it. Maybe I've just got a duff mount (was ebay after all)
Which firmware version are you using with your istD?
thanks again,
Steve

Hello Stevo,
I have been using an older Tamron SP 90mm F2.5 macro lens with an adaptall "KA" mount without any problems. I kept it in AE(?) position and the *ist-D metered fine in Av, Tv, and M modes, and I could override Aperture or Shutter speed with the thumbwheels. It acted like any other Pentax "A" lens.

Hi,
has anyone here used tamron adaptall lenses with PKA mounts successfully on the istD? I got a KA mount on ebay, and yes it does have electrical contacts (three of them, like old KA lenses), but my istD doesn't want to talk to it. Any ideas, or is it just not going to work? Unfortunately, I don't have another suitable body to try the mount on at the moment.

The instruction sheet states "only for use on Pentax A-series cameras".
There is another mount for Ricoh XR-P, which can be used with other "K" mount cameras
