yeah. the camera is completely unresponsive when I switch on. Just that shutter issue and nothing else works. Will try giving it a rest and then see what happens. Thanks.

Cheers all, I'll give some of those a try. is the firmware relatively easy to update?

I have tried various different batteries and SD cards.
I suspected that it might not be worth the repair. Maybe it's time to upgrade then.
Thanks for your help. I'm not a heavy user at all - just family photos mostly - I've had the camera for about 7 years. Gear in the digital age just doesn't seem to be built to last.

Hello.
My very beloved K100D has developed a fault where the shutter keeps flapping intermittently as soon as I shut the battery compartment. I can't access any menus/functions of the camera and it's rendered unusable.
I've uploaded some video here: Video of K100D shutter issue
Does anybody have any idea what might have caused it? It started happening randomly after I changed SD card. The camera hasn't suffered any damage that I know of.
If it's not something obvious, can anybody recommend a repairer - will it even be worth it or should I just get rid?
I love this camera. I'm only a dabbler but I miss it already.
