I took this a few days ago after a drop of rain, the original shot was underexposed so i have tried to bring it back in photoshop, But noise is ruining the shot. I cant seem to get rid of it. I am posting my attempt here and have linked to flickr to the original unedited shot, if anyone wants to download and can get rid of the noise or reduce it i would really appreciate it.

I was outside trying to get a shot of some flowers when this very obliging fella came along.
Taken with a k5iis + dxenon 100mm f2.8 and a 2x converter with the glass removed. manual mode and manual focus.
Cc most welcome.

Shouldn't your "closer" and "further away" be the other way round?
Could be
The only thing i do remember is it was a + adjustment for back and a - adjustment for front.
if its a front or back focus problem it only takes about ten mins to fine tune.

Hi john. Having had a couple of lenses with back focusing issues I know how frustrating this can be. But if that's all it is, it is easily remedied. I used this http://photographylife.com/how-to-quickly-test-your-dslr-for-autofocus-issues
And I found it really easy and straight forward to do.
Looking at your sample images it's hard to tell as we have no way of knowing what you were actually focusing on. Unless you say for example the third line of writing was the focus point.
With the lenses I had, they were focusing closer to the camera instead of actual focus point indicating back focus and needing a + adjustment. If focusing further away it indicates front focusing and will need a - adjustment.
It's very easily done in the menu and is nothing to be nervous of doing.
Good luck with this and hope you get it sorted.
Derek.

Nope. (To be honest I don't know what self heal is )
Just cropped and exp adjustment in pp. that might give a bit of a clue to size.
