Works great (well will when I learn how to use it properly!) in PS Elements 14 and Windows 10.

As people that read most stuff on here they will know my disappointment with focus speed and tracking of small objects at high telephoto and have drifted towards a Nikon solution. But this camera just seemed so much better made and would certainly be my first choice for full frame.
But what can you tell us about K1 AF performance? Are you saying, "Never Mind the Autofocus, Feel the Build Quality?"
As I said in the bit you clipped out - "Focusing did seem faster than K3 (although it was with the 150-450 which I have not tried on my K3)". Unfortunately it was not the situation to do a complete analysis of its AF capabilities, just an initial impression.

I believe it offers around 6-7fps in aps-c crop mode. There's been comment that this is good for sports shooters and wildlife people..... But if that's how you want to use it then why buy it?
"the Japanese manufacturer claims the K-1 records noise-free images up to its maximum ISO 204,800 sensitivity" - that would be a reason, not that I believe it!

I was with Neil P and was also impressed. Focusing did seem faster than K3 (although it was with the 150-450 which I have not tried on my K3). It seemed light to me for the size (well balanced?) and oozed quality. The screen I was expecting to be a gimmicky thing but it seems really good and as others have said we could hold it by the screen. As people that read most stuff on here they will know my disappointment with focus speed and tracking of small objects at high telephoto and have drifted towards a Nikon solution. But this camera just seemed so much better made and would certainly be my first choice for full frame. The price is incredible for what I think we will get because of course the proof of the pudding and all that......

Perhaps I was being a little negative about the performance of the 150-500 Sigma, hope the images at 500 mm will reassure some of you of the lens' abilities

You definitely were in my opinion. Mine was really good, not as good as the 300DA* but not really much heavier although bulkier. I got some cracking bird shots at 500mm f6.3 with it and also good for butterflies.
The bottom line is it focuses quicker than a lot of Pentax lenses and where else can you get half decent 500mm for £400 or so !

P.S - if only they would bring out the 150-600 Contemporary on Pentax - it is sensational.

I agree with all of the above. I took my DA*300 and 1.4x TC but sometimes wished I had something wider as well. The speed and closeness of Puffins zooming in make them difficult to catch in flight and it can be mesmerising knowing which one to go for. A wider lens and then with some crop makes it easier to get "the shot".

Fortunately, I have found that 99% of ignorant people have the perception to not believe that the other 1% of the population are arrogant know it alls.

It is my experience that if you conduct yourself in the correct manor with your retailer, they will do everything to help.......if you shout, rant, become a keyboard warrior......your complaint might just go to the back of the queue.......

I really hope this issue is sorted for you...

My advice......ignore MOST of the comments on here....it will not do you any good.
I think "MOST" of us have pretty much agreed with you. Only one or two differ and the OP has praised the retailer SRS in both his posts. My impression is that he didn't like being accused of mis-treating his camera by Ricoh and being without it or a replacement for a long period of time was frustrating but I saw no "keyboard warrior" from him.

SRS give about the best customer service I have ever got from anyone and not only do they care but they exist as a contactable real shop which you can't say for many these days. I also know that because I have had both Sigma and Pentax stuff go wrong (and no doubt Nikon and Canon as well if I'd had any!) that it is the manufacturers who are the problem. When Sigma were taking an age to fix my 150-500, SRS gave me a brand new one as they considered Sigma's delay unacceptable (and it was over a year old).

That's a fair comment although apart from that remark the criticisms appear aimed at Ricoh and the thread like most on here is full of glowing praise for SRS so I wouldn't worry too much.
