London Camera as a group will no longer sell Pentax cameras. Double discount on Pentax cameras, 11-18mm lens delayed, nothing new mentioned. Is it the end for Pentax/Ricoh?
My concern is that this forum is full of already satisfied Pentax users (like myself to a point) who already have most of what they want or buy secondhand. They may buy something new every now and again when Pentax bring out something new like the K1 but is that enough to be sustainable. How many new adopters to photography will buy a DSLR as opposed to mirrorless and even those that do - will Pentax be as high on their list as it was 5 years ago? I can see Canon and Nikon struggling as well as Olympus, Panasonic, Fuji and Sony surge on. (I haven't looked at sales figures, just the feeling I get from what I am seeing people buy at my camera club and what I see while I am out and about).

Well I’m still using Contax gear, so does the end really mean the end anyway, and like others have said before me, I buy all my cameras used, the last new camera I bought was a Ricoh xrx and I still own it.
Me too. But I suppose that doesn't really help Pentax. For me the biggest issues are the same - and it's not closed down Pentax so far. So tracking AF still way behind the others which are improving all the time and not many third parties like Sigma and Tamron producing k-mount and with the new technology they are now producing some excellent lenses at a rate. (e.g. the 150-600mm series for around £1000 or less) . Also Nikon are developing the lightweight, compact PF telephotos that the other manufacturers will need to develop. I'm not a mirrorless fan so far but everybody seems to think that they are the way forward and not sure where Ricoh are on that one.

In excellent condition and fully working. Includes front and rear caps and hood. I've found it to be an excellent travel lens, very light and compact and capable of some decent images considering the long focal range. Optics appear unmarked to me and looks pretty much like a new lens to me. Of course I always offer a full refund if not to your satisfaction.
Asking for £125 + £6 P&P

I have kept my K3 although I now have the D500 for my main hobby of bird photography. However it is not a better camera than my K3 in a large number of areas. It is only really clearly better because of AF functionality which is massive and the availability of excellent affordable 3rd party birding lenses like the Sigma, Tamron and Nikon lenses in the 150- 600mm range. I can't tell you how good these are these days. My Sigma is on a par with my DA*300mm. That is the two things Ricoh cannot solve. They can't or won't do anything about AF despite the complaints for years and unfortunately they are unlikely to get any of the new stellar third party lenses. But for sheer image quality, ergonomics and robustness the K3 is still at least as good as a D500 and so I still have my K3.

in good used condition except it has the battery compartment closing properly problem that this model was plagued with, due to one of the lugs breaking. It will stay closed until the pressure of the batteries spring it open again almost immediately. I have tried (successfully for a while) to repair it by drilling a small hole through the case for a screw but this doesn't now hold. (See pic). My current solution is to tape it in place with duct tape which works well. I'm sure someone with better engineering skills can come up with a neater solution. Otherwise it is in full working order, the contacts are clean and bright and the LCD screen is not scratched and the rest of the body is in good condition. If I look I may be able to find the box.
Because of this I am asking just £59 including postage and packing by Royal Mail 1st Class signed for.
