I knew from stage one that I would be unfamiliar with it as my camera is a GX20, not a K20 or K10 as others have mistaken it for, the menus etc are totally different.
I will spend all week shooting with the K-5 and will make a decision the day before the wedding as to whether I will use it as my main camera or my back-up.
Thanks all for your help.

If you are buying a second body as backup for an important event, with no second chances, there is only one way to go and that is to buy a second K20D. Then make sure all the settings are identical on both bodies.
Flog them both after the wedding and buy a K5.

So - in short, coming from a GX20, which I absolutely adore, will I love the K-5 equally or more? What were your experiences of the K-5 coming from a GX20 or K20D?

I have started another thread here
The flash I use is the Pentax 360AF, how would you personally use it in the small environment I am going to be in - would you bounce it from the ceiling with camera on auto? Or would you use some sort of diffuser on it?

I have been asked to do an Asian wedding in two weeks time, I think it's because they have been let down by someone else, either way I haven't done one before and I told them this and they were still happy for me to do it as they have seen my Asian bridal portraits. I said I couldn't guarantee exceptional results and this was reflected in the price.
Anyway I want to make sure that I have the right kit on me. I know that when I start doing this properly I'll need two of everything but right now what I have is:
Samsung GX20 (same as K20D)
Kit Lens 18-55mm
FA 50mm 1.4
Tamron 10-24mm
Tamron 70-300mm
Pentax Manual 75-150mm 1:4
Carl Zeiss Jena Biotar 58mm f2 (Manual)
Pentax Flash AF360
Radio trigger with 4 receivers
Various other old manual flash heads with stands, umbrellas etc.
Now I am guessing that this isn't the ideal kit for shooting weddings (I don't really know what are the common lenses used,) but it's all I have at the moment.
What I need to know is - if I can scrape together a couple of hundred quid what would it be best spent on? A lens? If so, which one? Or a second body so I can have my 50mm lens on a body permanently and something more flexible on the other? I reckon I may get a K10D or a GX10 body if I can get enough money together.

I think I may go for the Tamron, just looking around for a 2nd hand one but they seem pretty rare.

If I use the AF-360FGZ flash unit it seems to expose correctly using PTTL if the flash is pointing towards the subject but if I bounce the flash off the ceiling or have it at 45 degrees angle with a STO-FEN type diffuser then the photo is over-exposed by around two stops.
Just to check I put the flash back onto my GX20 (K20D) and using the same settings and lens the photos were perfectly exposed in any flash position.
I am quite concerned about this and would welcome any advice.
Thanks.
