Welcome to PU John. I liked this pic when I first saw it, or one like it, at Durham PS. The floor looks like a skating rink. You managed to get the exposure right without burning out detail in the Rose Window.

I agree with Darkmunk, sloping horizons spoil otherwise good pix, unless the tilt is done deliberately and for dramatic purposes.

The textures and colours are wonderful.

A very evocative portrayal of a cold and frosty morning. Where's me gloves? I assume this is from the Northumberland side of the river. Can't have Geordie lads straying into Scotland.

Beautiful light and rich colours.

Emily, I love abstracts. This a great example of the old saying 'less is more'. Its much more satisfying than viewing the whole car. David

Got one from just about the same position, but looking the other way, taken recently. I'm putting it into the Gallery. The whole area is a gift to photographers. Best wishes, David.

Magic light, magic colour.

I like this picture a lot and think the wide angle helps the composition. It's debatable whether a figure would add to the scene as Peter suggests. That's a personal choice. I've spent quite a lot time photographing around this area and find it very inspiring. Currently its one of my favourite locations along with the Northumbria University site less than a mile away in Newcastle and Salford Q ...

What a great scene. The tranquility of the picture is very appealing as is the beautful colour, particularly in the loch reflections.
