What are you doing haunting the cloisters at 7am John? This is certainly an image few visitors will ever get at Durham, long before it opens to the general public. These lights make the picture. The translucence from the windows is what makes this image so special in my eyes. Despite what must have been challenging lighting you've got detail in the shadow areas. This is an original angle from which to photograph a loco. Union of South Africa was the name this engine carried from new, and was never renamed unlike many that were saddled with the names of LNER company directors.
