Thanks everybody. It was the card reader that had gone wrong. Strange I have had it about two or 3 years and its been fine.

I have been trying to update the firmware on my camera. When I try to copy the file from the computer to the SD card I get a message saying that the card is write protected.
I have tried an old card and a new one both, formatted in the camera. I have never had this problem before. I am running windows 7.
Any ideas of how to get round this? The cards work in the camera perfectly.

Adrian,
sorry for not replying to your question. The side access on the Versa pack is easy to use once you have decided on your set up. It is not as spacious as the top access and may need some thought to the packing arrangement. But for quick access its good.
