Please share your experience with the Arca Swiss D4 ? This head is on my wish list as light weight geared head for hiking and travel. I currently use the Markins M20 but during still-life Macro-shoot I sometimes feel the need to manipulate just one dimension while keeping the rest constant. The Markins although excellent for every thing else doesn't afford me to do this :-/ . I have read plenty about and tried the Manfrotto 4xx line but was not satisfied with the weight/capability ratio. Any thoughts welcome.

One more consideration if you are into portraits and need to (like me) hand hold some shots, is that, with a 645NII it is a breeze. With a 67 system you may not be that lucky because of the mirror backslash. Here is one article on the same.

BTW I reuse most of my 645 lens on the K5 with the Pentax adaptor. The 33-55 might not be that useful on the 35mm digital cameras, but the 645 75mm and 300mm are stupidly sharp even with a 2X tele sticking to them on my K5. The 33-55 is brilliant on the 645D though, I clicked a few pictures using the 645D and the 33-55 combo and the results were excellent.

Hi Mito, Shutter actuations according to camerashuttercount.com is 7990. I bought the camera in Sep 2009 and has since been with me. The extra battery was bought a year ago or so and has not seen much service as my K5 was doing all the clicking.

- Yes it is split prism [link]. In addition to that it has a OptiBrite treatment and One "Quarter Grid line" compositional marking.
