Thanks for all the help! Decided to get myself a PENTAX-A 50mm f2 lens, keeps the budget down and seems to be a relatively basic lens which is all I’m looking for at the moment. Looking forward so the arrival of both items to I can get this new project under way.

Thanks again.

Hello, I'm just venturing into the world of 35mm. Studying photography at uni and we are about to crack on with developing our own stuff etc. So I thought it was about time to buy my own 35m. Due to a distinct lack of funds, I couldn't by anything too hot. Fancied the look of the lx but sadly my money only stretched as far as an mz-m.

So I've a few things I would like to ask about. First what’s the general consensus of the mz-m? Will it work with the pentax 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL II Zoom Lens or is this just madness? What would be a good lens to use? Is the mount on the K10d the same?

Sorry loads of easy questions.

Thanks for any help!

I considered investing in a canon but I don't really have enough money to go and buy another slr. I wouldn't want to buy lower than the EOS 450d, if I had to buy one at all.

I've got my eye on using the EF 50MM f/25 compact macro, the telezoom EF 75-300 III F4-5.6 amoung the many others.

Hi,
I've just started a photography course at uni, which has a store that allows us to borrow lenses. The problem is that it's all canon stuff.
Is it possible to find an adaptor that will allow me to fit a canon lens of onto my K10D?

Thanks

The light was pretty terrible because it was a cloudy grey day that was constantly threatening to rain. But I couldn't resist a few shots anyway. I always have the option of photoshop.

I quite like the waterfall one, though personnally I would have slowed the shutter speed down to blur the water. Its personal preference really but I like the look it gives.

I wanted to slow the shutter speed down but I'll have to admit that I forgot how to do it I button bashed for a few minutes but had to leave because my little brother was creating havoc. I eventually got it to slow down and got a shot of the little fountain. I didn't get another opportunity to go back though -- I must continue to be a slave to the manual.

What is even more amazing is that I had my camera with me, but didn't take any pictures Had 2 tired kids in the back and I don't think the Mrs would have been too impressed if I had pulled over and took some shots! May go back soon and take some "

It's a shame you missed the opportunity but I can sympathise with your wife on the matter.

These are the first photographs I have taken with the K10D. They are nothing to shout about, I was just messing around. I just wanted to share them. Any comments are welcome but please be kind.

Above all, now we've determined you're not a troll, you're on the way to becoming friends with a couple of hundred people with the same interest as yourself.. not bad for a mornings work really.

next question what's a troll? I've already gathered that its nothing to be proud of.

I've already had to straighten out a problem with the camera. My SD card refused to work after an hour of use. No idea what happend, so I'm currently sending it back. I bought a new one yesterday that has been running smoothly so far.

Thank you all for your help. I do appreciate it.
Old habits die fast so I am sure I will not miss the liveview for very long. It's a just habit I suppose.

I am fully aware that this is camera is far too advanced for me at the moment. I knew this before I bought it. I have researched it for a long time and I did make a basic assumption.

Sorry, but is this poster serious? Why as a first camera, let alone a first SLR would you choose the K10D and then expect it to behave like a P&S? Yes the K10D is a superb camera, but it is not a beginners camera. Surely if you are spending a great wodge of money on a camera you do some research first into what you want/need and how to use it? And understad the differece between a P&S and a dSLR.
Or am I the stupid one here? This has the feel of a Troll to me.
I feel there is no need for a post like this. I clearly stated that I am out of my depth when it comes to knowing what I am doing. I did not buy this camera on a whim, I do not have money to waste. I wanted to buy a camera that I could grow into. Because I happend to make an assumption does not mean that I must be questioned on wither I know the difference between a P&S and dSLR. It's a simple mistake to make and I don't see why anyone should take great offence to it.

It is a first camera that is under my name, I did commandeer my mothers for a long time so I do know a bit about what I am doing but the dSLR is a completely different ball game, that I am more than willing to take on

Also a bit of extra info that may not make a difference. I am going to university to study photography, so I felt that I may aswell begin with an advanced camera. I will quickly learn, I cannot wait to expand my knowledge and learn everything there is to know about this camera.

I have clearly learned my lesson that I my research does lack at times, that I make mistakes and sometimes ask silly questions and make assumptions. But this is what it is like to be human. I shall have to consider posting for help in the future for fear of being shot down again, I may just struggle out my problems on my own.

Again thank you.

My lovely K10D just arrived this morning. It's my very first camera ever, so I am out of my depth when it comes to knowing what I am doing. I do have previous camera expierence (with my mothers).

Anyway, my question is quite simple, how do you get the image you wish to take to appear on the lcd screen, without always having to peep through the viewfinder all the time?

Thanks in advance, any information is greatly appreciated as I am very confused.
