Hi all
Been browsing the various posts on this Forum and also spoken to SRS for some advice but I'd be grateful for your input too... I need to get a flashgun to use with my K10D. I'll be taking a mix of portrait (family, weddings etc) and close up shots (mainly jewellery), with flash both on and off camera. Lenses mainly will be standard 18-55 and Sigma 70-300, but I also use some old manual lenses (e.g. M series 50/1.7).

What would be best flashgun for my needs? I'm looking at Metz 48, Pentax 360 or Sigma DG Super, as my budget is closer to £150 than £250. Can't stretch to Metz 58 though I gather that's got the best feature set.

Any thoughts welcome. Thanks

Take an old translucent film canister and cut a slot in its side so that it fits over your built-in flash.
I haven't used films for ages but made a simple diffuser by cutting the handle off a 4 pint plastic milk carton and cutting a slit along its length. Slide it over the internal flash and there you go. Easy to make and it really helps cut down the harsh shadows...

Hi All! Thought I'd join in, after watching from the sidelines for a while. I've been with Pentax for years, from ME Super to a K10D, which I've had for a few years now. Still learning and realising how much I don't know about using the thing! Starting to move from A to M mode, so my confidence is obviously growing. I can take good pictures, but not quite as often as I'd like -- and not least because I never seem to have enough chances to take the camera out
