Great shot again. I'm really chuffed to see these as I have the Tamron 70-300 but not used it a great deal. Its good to see its capable of terrific colourful and sharp shots like this.
All In all its not a bad lens, I'm amazed at some of the quality images that members have posted in the gallery taken with this lens, if you can put up with pf and the autofocus hunting a bit its ok. I see you have the 18-250, how do you rate image quality compared to the 70-300.

Cliff,

Great shots, No.3 is my favourite, it makes the big plane look huge.

Any tips as to the best vantage points from the link you supplied (apart from the obvious temptation of a burger van at the aviation park)?

Richard
Hi Richard, No 3 was taken from spot G,(good job its not called the G spot:lol this is by far the best place for close-up shots as the aircraft taxi across and line up here waiting departure. Spots D,F,E are also good, as they are further down the runway, and you can get some excellent shots of aircraft lifting off, but you may have to spend some time driving up and down narrow country roads trying to find them.

A 70-300 lens (or sim) is fine for all areas, pick a nice day, take a flask and some butties,( you can tell I'm not posh) a chair, and you should enjoy the day.

Great shot of the vulcan, a worthy addition to the magazine.

Cheers for looking and passing your comments.

No problems with security at all, Man Airport are very spotter friendly, they even provide mounds by the side of the perimeter fence for us to stand on, so you can get good shots quite easily. There is also the viewing park where Concord is statically displayed. (not to mention a great burger van, that sell huge chip barms ).

Speaking to the airport police who patrol regular, they like us to be around as extra eyes for them, a sort of early warning system if you like.
