Unfortunately, for second-curtain sync (and HSS) one needs a P-TLL flash.

The Cactus RF60 has a delay feature with which you can emulate second-curtain sync. But that requires manual input of a delay that depends on the shutter speed.

Don't know about a UK distributor.

Ordering through GadgetInfinty shouldn't be a problem, though. They really provide very good service.

The RF60 essentially contains a V6 transceiver radio module and while it does not replicate all the controls of the V6, it has its own controls, and a flash tube, capacitor, tilt&swivel mechanics, etc. on top of it.

I'm hopeful that the RF60 will be available in multiple flash kits with a bit of a discount applied compared to the sum of the individual prices, because it is naturally suited to support a multi-flash setup.

Brian Hursey has created a video demonstrating the V6 controlling the power of an RF60 and a YN568EX.

Note how he first changes the levels individually (by keeping the respective group button pressed while turning the dial) and then changes the levels in tandem (by just turning the dial).

You cannot see it in the video due to the (over) exposure, but the V6 also displays the individual levels.

The RF60 is a manual flash and will work in combination with the upcoming V6 RF trigger. The latter will also allow remote power control of up to four groups.

The V6 will be able to not only remote control the power levels of RF60 but also many more existing flash models. Almost too cool to be true.

Seems like with the Cactus RF60 a new flash with remote power and zoom control will be available soon.

Lighting Rumours posted a teaser video and beta testers (I'm one of them) are getting ready to publish their first impressions.

This will be a good one for Pentax shooters...

Measuring lighting ratios is the only good application I can see for a lightmeter these days.

One can judge exposure using the histogram on the back LCD and from what I have seen how people use lightmeters, their process is not really quicker or less demanding on strobes.

I find that the visual feedback is good enough for judging lighting ratios and if you really wanted to be more systematic, you could also calculate lighting ratios by considering the strength and distance of light sources.

So in summary, I don't feel that there is much room left for external lightmeters in the digital age.
