I found a second hand lens, and bought it for a small amount. But the built in hood is very loose when it is extended. When I turn the hood in one direction it is loose, but turned in the other direction it becomes tighter. Unfortunately it cannot be held tightened and it sits at an angle.
Is there any way to repair this without disassembling the lens and renewing the velvet or flock?

I was lucky to find a second hand Pentax LX with a Motor Drive and a NiCd battery pack. I have charged the battery pack with the Charge Pack M for 12 hours, so it should be ready to use. The LX has fresh SR44 batteries and a film is loaded.
Then when i press the shutterbutton, the motor drive beeps or buzzes and the red LED i lit. The shutter is not released and the shutterbutton is unable to move down - neither to trigger the meter or trigger the shutter.
Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?
I downloaded the manuals from somewhere on the internet, but the pictures are bad so I cannot see details, and I cannot find any error state description.
Thanks
Chris

It looks like the cover for the ME Winder II is useable. You'll find plenty of ME Winder II's on ebay, and since they are plenty ...

The 200 mm M have some kind of fabric between the hood and the barrel, and I suspect this to be something like velvet. When i stroke my hand in one direction on some kinds of velvet it is smooth, and when the direction is opposite there's a lot of friction.
So I expected the fibers of this fabric between the hood and the lens to have laid down in one direction. And I am looking for a method to raise the fibers without disassembling the lens.
Not "tightening" the hood makes it sit at a wedge, and trying to turn the hood in one direction raises the fiber, so the hood will be parallel to the barrel. But this should be possible without turning the hood?
