Is there a difference in quality of reproduction from memory card or lead transfer on to my laptop ? I wondered if there is any variation of quality or not. I guess there are a variety of possible ways of doing this, but i wondered what is the most effective.

Just joined this forum and so far i have been really impressed with what i have seen. I have a reasonable amount of equipment but i was hoping to find a forum to increase my understanding of photography and the technical side. I have considered photography courses and training weekends but found this to be time consuming and expensive. This seems the best alternative.
I am particularly interested in landscape and wildlife photography, but i wouldnt limit myself to a a certain type of photography work.
Many thanks for the help so far.

I am hoping to purchase a book covering a good general understanding of DSLR photography. I would describe myself as a keen enthusiast with limited funds to put into this fantastic hobby/pastime/profession/obsession! I am particularly interested in nature and landscaping work and i am slightly bewildered by the vast amount of information and advertising there is on this subject. It is my hope that someone has read or knows of a suitable book for the purpose, that can recommend it.

I am relatively new to DSLR photography and have a KX that i bought on a whim a few years ago. I tried to re programme the functions and set it up for general use. As a result i am now finding that it has limitations when i try and use it. With mobile phones now and other electrical equipment it is possible to re set the functions back to how it was when it left the factory. Can i do this with my Pentax K-X ? Many thanks in advance.
