Also Lightroom remembers all the changes you do so you can easily skip back to an earlier date or even make a "clone" image with certain settings which you can edit separately further as well.
We mostly do Fashion now and we both use lightroom and photoshop for our work.
In lightroom we manage all the photos, make selection and do the processing of the RAW. It's quite easy to get all images in 1 line their since they are basically next to each other. Then we open the image up in photoshop and clean the skin and such and sometimes add special effects with the layers.
So in lightroom we make a proper photo and with photoshop we make something special out of it.
In lightroom 5 they added a couple of features so it should now be easier to clone out unwanted objects and such.
So for your normal photography Lightroom these days is enough for most.
If you need layers or add text

Video might benefit from larger than 16Gb capacity but for stills I play safe with 16Gb cards.
I've lost 2 cards so if i had 1 big card in the camera i would not have lost those.
The stories about cards getting broken are far in between.

My explaination is certainly simplstic but you don't go into a lot of details either.
Both have ACR and elements is used for photoshop style editing, you aren't saying a lot more then i am...
What i'm trying to say is that both programs have different uses.
Lightroom is geared to the photographer specificly and it handles the manangement of the photos, you can adjust the photos with mostly "overall" adjustments and you have several ways of outputting them.
Elements is more meant as an creative tool, as you can say you can use layers, mix photos, really throw the pixels around and create new pixels.
So if you want to create content, movie posters, photo collage for example then Element like programs are what you need.
If you want to adjust the brightness, contrast, whitebalance and make your photos black and white, add some vignetting effects and add some noise to make them look old or... clean up all the photo defects by removing noise and dust on the photo then programs like ligtroom are designed to do specficly that.
Elements can also do that but if you need to do that with more then 10 photos then i'm 100% sure lightroom is a better investment.

Like i said there should be little to no transfer costs between EURO accounts and with an UK account it's about 4 pounds for each.
With paypal it will cost you almost 10 GBP to transfer 279 GBP and i believe you also pay for transfer the money to your bank account.

I live in the Netherlands so i included the shipping cost to the UK indeed in it.
They will be send with track and trace, insured and you need to sign a receive on delivery.
I'm willing to including shipping all over the EU, outside will include a small extra fee.
About exchange cost, if it goes between banks then those cost are automaticly shared. Those cost for me are 6 euro's accoriding my bank so about 4 GBP for you. Between Euro accounts there is no such fee as far as i can tell.
So i should actually let people in the UK pay extra for it, but i won't

Differences between RAW convertors would be a good test for someone with a good handle on that sort of thing.
No need to reinvent the wheel right
As for elements vs lightroom
Elements is a pixel editor and lightroom an raw converter, 2 very different things.
If you want to "adjust" photos then use lightroom.
Do you want to "create" then use element.

If you combine that with Lightroom you should have a very powerful package.
