The new CS6 has new default preference for image interpolation.
In CS5 the interpolation method is Bicubic(best for smooth gradients), but in the new CS6 it is set to Bicubic automatic. This was causing the problem for me. I went to Preferences -> General -> Interpolation method Bicubic(best for smooth gradients) and all is fine now.
This automatic bicubic interpolation just don't work for me. Here is an example for just resized pictures, on the left is with automatic(default) and the one in the right is with Bicubic(best for smooth gradients).

The default method for CS6 tends to create this 'over sharp' effect by using that automatic interpolation, which just looks like CRAP.

RC is still good to use as it's not beta and doesn't have unknown bugs and issues like alfas and betas.
