Thanks!

I don't know who Ken Rockwell is, so i'll just assume he hates everything. Also is there an easy panorama tutorial somewhere? I was under the illusion that my K-r has a panorama mode =[

However, I was tempted by the Pentax 10-17mm, since it can effectively double up as a FE and superwide lens..
Having said that, I can perhaps de-fish photos taken with the samyang in PP..

Oh, decisions, decisions

Thanks,

I did like the look of the Samyang, and whilst it lacks auto focus, i was rather hoping the lack of AF would be compensated by the DOF.

Cool thanks!

I was also looking at the Zenitar 16mm, but it seems to lack that distorted effect- do you have any experience with this lens?

ps. Also loving the myriad of Christmas cards haha

Hello,

I'm quite new to photography and would like to ask about fisheye lenses. Having done some extensive googling and trawling through forums, there seems to be a concern over superwide lenses and cropped sensors (i.e. actual black frames around an image).
I own a Kr and have been looking at some cheap 8mm fisheyes (peleng, samyang and the like). My question is: will my images be affected by the 1.5x crop factors on the kr, when using a 8mm lens?
Also, if anyone has any other suggestions for a decent, cheap fisheye, that would be greatly appreciated (preferably something around the £200 mark).

Hello,

Recently I purchased a cheapy old Chinon 50mm 1.7 on ebay and have been playing around with it. It's a great lens and I wanted to learn more about manual photography before I invest in more expensive lenses, since I quite nooby at photography.
The photos i've been getting are great, but i've noticed some weird colour distortions when doing night photography where lighting is particularly harsh. This is best expressed in this photo (its been compressed a bit, but you can see whats wrong, the lights on the boat show up in a harsh blue tint):

I suppose an even better example would be this:

Do you do meet-up sales? Never bought anything off a forum classified ad before, so not quite sure what the procedures are.

Hello, my name is Alex and I am a 19yr old student at uni. Just wanted to pop in and introduce myself

I recently bought a pentax k-r and have been having some fun experimenting with it. I bought my first dSLR a few years back but that has been lying in dust and so i decided to rekindle my love for photography, as it were.

Hoping to chat to more of you as i explore this place
