Hi All,

I am having to travel light this summer so am looking to build up my usage of my original Q - I currently only have the 01 prime lens and really do love it but would be interested to see if anyone is looking to sell any of the others to try out on my travels, would be particularly interested in the 08 or the fisheye if anyone is looking to part with it,

Many Thanks,

Jemma

Thank you David and Carl, that was exactly what I was looking for. Landscapes are a new game for me (as I think we can see!) And it seems that the principle of cropping tighter is usually better applies in landscapes as well!

I also love a shallow depth of field in my usual photography but I get out into landscapes and obviously feel the need to cram every little thing around me in at all times.

David, the photos you mentioned were taken down, from a raised path, onto the rocks below, which now I can see have flattened any perspective.

Thanks again guys, I do that walk around once a month so hopefully next time I can produce a stronger set of images, every time is part of the learning curve!

I took my k-5 + Tamron 17-50 on one of my dog walking routes and I find that I am struggling with how to make photographs of tourist beautyspots not look like holiday snaps, any advice and CC most welcome.

Thanks for looking and for any comments and suggestions. I feel like I live in this gorgeous part of the world but can't do it justice!

I do have a copy of the Tam 272E, but unfortunately it's not K-Mount.

Have you considered the Cosina/Phoenix/Vivitar/Voightlander/Promaster AF 100mm F/3.5 MC Macro (plastic fantastic)? It's the exact same lens as the Pentax branded version but costs a fraction of the price. They cost around £50.00 used. See specs here.

There's also the Sigma AF 105mm F/2.8 EX DG Macro or the later OS HSM version, though the Tam 272E is a very nice portrait macro.
Thanks!

I must admit I Hadn't considered the Cosina/Vivitar et al 100mm, I will certainly have a look into it. LBA fuel for the fire!

I had already considered the earlier Siggy but those go for the price of a new Tammy 90mm and I am looking for a lens to double as a first foray into macro/Close up and portraiture and I know the Tammy is well regarded in both those areas. One of the UK Warehouse sellers on ebay has the newer Tamron for 225pounds sterling which seems very cheap. Cheap enough to make me worry!
