For sale is a Samsung (Pentax fit) 100mm F2.8 macro lens. 49mm filter size.

This is very similar (if not the same) as the Pentax DFA 100mm macro. Note that this is isn’t WR.

I bought the lens second hand about three years ago and the lens cap shows some signs of wear, but the lens is otherwise in excellent condition. Selling as I’ve found myself using it less and less - have had some nice shots out of this, but it needs a new home!

I don’t have original packagaing, just the lens bag as shown.

This is the kit lens that originally came with my Samsung GX-10, so it is the same as the Pentax version (that came with the K10D) and uses the K mount. It has seen several years of use but is still in excellent condition. The 'Samsung' lettering on the lens cap has faded a bit through use, but apart from this looks as it did when I first got it. Autofocus etc. all works exactly as it did at the start, and is a great, lightweight lens.

I hadn't considered the Tamron, just didn't know it was available! I've just bought the Sigma from eBay for what seems like a pretty reasonable price, I found the discussion/review you mentioned and decided that Sigma was the way to go.

The nice thing about photography kit is that if I don't like it, they don't really lose much value and so I can easily resell!

I'm seriously considering selling on my Samsung GX10 (almost 5 years old now!) and upgrading to a K5. Nothing wrong with the Samsung, but video, better low light performance and general picture quality are big draws for me.

At the same time I'd like to take a step up from the 18-55 kit lens, and I want one that is constantly fast through the zoom range. I'm sure this has come up before but I couldn't find it on the search, what is the general opinion on the Sigma vs. Pentax? They are similar enough in price (especially if I buy 2nd hand), so build and image quality is what matters!
