Hi ChrisA, thanks for replying so quickly, I like this forum already! Yes, its a quiet slide then thunk. I am glad to hear this is normal as I thought I may have a defective one! Just one more thing, does it also do this with the camera turned on as mine still does.

Hi all, I have just bought my first digital SLR camera. After reading many reviews decided to get a K10d. It has arrived today, but I think there is a problem with it and I haven't even turned it on yet! The internals seem to shift quite a bit when I rotate the camera from landscape to portrait and vice versa. It is definately in the body and not the lens. It is like something is sliding inside. Should I turn it on and see what happens, return camera/seek specialist advice, or is this just be normal? I want to do the right thing as these cameras take some saving up for!
