Thanks for your interest, I do agree with your comments on the lens. I haven't registered it with Sigma but interestingly they do not seem to be worried if you are the original owner or not. Last year I had a problem with a Sigma lens that I bought secondhand (with the original receipt) and I phoned them for advice. They advised me to return the lens to them with the original receipt, even though they knew that I was not the first owner, and they repaired it and returned it free of charge!
I have had and still do have several Sigma lenses and I must say that I have only ever had a problem with the one lens.
In any case, with Sigma and with other manufacturers there are usually ways round problems like this, especially with the co-operation of the original owner!

This medium telephoto zoom lens is ideal to extend the 'reach' of your camera and complements the standard 18-55mm kit lens. It has had very little use and is in pristine condition in its original box with instruction leaflet, front & rear lens caps, lens hood and a Tiffen UV Protector filter. It was bought from a UK Sigma main dealer with a 3 year warranty on 26 September 2012 and the original receipt will be sent. Suitable for most recent Pentax digital cameras with K mount lenses. It can be used with the Sigma Optical Stabilization switched on to see a stabilised image in the viewfinder or on the lcd screen, or off to use the Pentax built in camera shake reduction (both should not be used together). The HSM motor gives quiet autofocussing.

I was recently looking for a small compact to carry with me all the time. Despite some critical comments especially about noise over 200iso, I saw an I-10 in my local ASDA store for just £42 and decided to buy it.
I am very pleased so far, although I have not used it at higher iso values. For the price, it has got to be good value!
Anyone looking for one, try your local ASDA - the Gravesend store had 3 left in stock (they are not available on the ASDA website).

Is the Pentax 12-24 still available please?
