Very pleasing and the sort of photography I am interesting in improving in. Presuming you are using your extension tubes would be mind telling me what lens you were using with them?

Many thanks.
not at all, the Tamron 90mm as you say with tubes is the weapon of choice.have not tried it yet but they say a light spray of cold water on the insect stills it momentarily for a better shot.Bugs are certainly less active first thing in the morning when it's cooler.Like us I guess

Lovely shots, the second one reminds me of my eyes after a nights work

Exellent shots, so clear and sharp, 2 and 4 the best IMHO.

The last one is an adult Assassin bug, they predate other insects. Lovely colours.

Can't get any better than this. Enough to frighten Little Miss Muffet away. Sure to put the missus from going to Aussie land, I suspect... but probably not half as scary in their natural environment. Do they bite? Do they come indoors? What do they eat out there to get like this? Great shots that make me envious
These spiders are pretty small, insects are the main diet and according to the book, have a painfull bite with no after effects. I have been here 30 odd years and not yet been bitten by spider snake or croc and am pretty active outdoors. I think the English spiders are just better at hiding cause they know they are gunna get squished
