Many thanks for your kind comments.
There are 2 aspects of the colours in this image -
1) I took it in the morning light before the sun got too bright (the EXIF says 08:12 but it was actually 09:12 as I've not re-set the camera for BST !)
2) I admit to a small bit of PP, but only a minor 'tweek'
I was pleased with this shot since I have been having terrible problems getting sharp images of our lovely dwarf Ceanothus (see the shot in my portfolio). I can get part of the bloom sharp but not the whole of it. I've tried again today using different apertures, shutter speeds and ISO's but have so-far not succeeded. I'm wondering if ny DAL 18-55 kit lens is just a bit soft ?
Still, this is all part of the 'fun' of it, isn't it ! And with digital it doesn't cost anything to try.
Anyhow, thanks again.

Lovely shot Peter, i have this shrub which i have shaped into a small tree by cutting the bottom branches off when it was young, it flowers prolifically at this time of year doesn't it? and makes a real mess when the flowers drop
