I was 100mtrs away with the Sigma 50-150 but these guys seemed to think you had to get much closer with much bigger glass to photograph waves!

They are certainly taking a bit of a risk but it gave you a brilliant photo opportunity. Excellent shot
Perhaps they thought with that weight of glass they couldnt possibly get washed away!

Were they photographing surfers? If not, it's a bit puzzling. I bet your shot turned out better than theirs!

That's what I initially thought they may be doing - but the only thing in the water was them!
